SHAPE UP ROCK LEDGE DAY

 All students must wear tennis shoes! This will also be “Sweatsuit Day”! There will be a “School Wide Walk” during this time. Please drop everything & exercise! It's a celebration of giving importance to fitness, a healthy lifestyle, and a sound mind and body.

It’s as easy as ABC and takes just 30 minutes…

Lack of physical movement is a significant reason that one in three adolescents are overweight or obese. Studies show obese children are more likely to be obese adults.  On May 1st, 2024, Rock Ledge will participate in 30 continuous minutes of aerobic activity. Join us in showing our kids that physical movement is fun!

“Shape Up Rock Ledge Day'' is an annual event that promotes the importance of daily physical activity and helps create awareness of exercise and the opportunity it provides to get active and set a goal. It gives importance to fitness, a healthy lifestyle, and a sound mind and body.

FRIDAY, MAY 24, 2024

On Friday, May 24th, the Physical Education Department will sponsor Rock Ledge Field Day!  This event provides students with special games and activities in recognition of a successful school year in Physical Education.  Students, staff and volunteers should plan on dressing appropriately for outdoor games and hot/cold weather. TENNIS SHOES are required to participate-NO SANDALS, please. Students will NOT be able to borrow tennis shoes because we will be outside.  It will also be “Sweatsuit” day.

HELP – We do need PARENT VOLUNTEERS to help assist students and their teacher at the stations. We appreciate your willingness to volunteer, but please note that younger siblings cannot accompany parent volunteers due to safety and liability concerns. If you are willing to help, we will put you in your child’s class for the duration.  You will rotate around with your child’s class and assist at each of the stations.  If interested, please sign the form below and return it to your student’s homeroom teacher. Please park at the 

Aquatic Center and meet at the High School Track Field instead of coming through the office. The teacher will meet you out there and have a Field Day Booklet for you. We will need at least one volunteer for each classroom.
