Bellin Run Training

Advisor: Sandi Delvaux | Email

Purpose- help runners train for the Bellin 5k or 10k in June

Your child is invited to participate in the “Kids for Running'' program offered by the Bellin Run and coordinated by parents and teachers at our school. Kids for Running is an after-school program that prepares children to run the 5K Bellin Run on June 14, 2025. NOTE: this year Seymour students will not be registering as an official team but will instead just train after school.

Kristina Lemke VanGompel & Sandi Delvaux will be serving as our team captains and will be coordinating our training runs with the help of other volunteers. Training runs will be held after school on Mondays and Wednesdays with the expectation that students will run once on their own each weekend. Training will begin Wednesday, April 16th. Each session will begin with a light warm-up. We will begin with short distances and gradually increase our mileage.

Parents and family members are welcome to train with us and serve as chaperones. We are in need of volunteers to assist with running with our students, manning water stations along the training route, being the “caboose”, as well as providing healthy post run snacks. We will be sending out a sign up form (Sign Up Genius) for volunteer help this year. We are counting on parents and staff to help make this a successful event.

Training Runs
Participants who wish to participate in the “Kids for Running” training program after school must complete and return the enclosed permission slip and liability paperwork by Friday, April 11th in order to participate. Forms can be turned into your child’s teacher or the school office.

Bellin Run
Those who choose to register for the Bellin Run, can do so individually, online. Seymour will not be registering as a team this year but instead focusing on getting together as a group to increase overall fitness level and have fun! You can register HERE
