Hello!  I'm Kristen Tuomi .  I am a special education teacher at Seymour Middle School.  I have been teaching for over 20 years.   I grew up in Houghton, MI  and graduated from Houghton High School.  I attended Northern Michigan University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.  After college,  I began working with troubled youth.   In 2000,  I decided that I wanted to change careers and become a Special Education Teacher.  While attending the UW Oshkosh where I was working on obtaining licensure in cross categorical special education with an emphasis in Emotional Behavior Disabilities, I began my first teaching job as a special education teacher with the Green Bay School District.   I later taught at Winnebago Mental Health, Wisconsin Department of Corrections, and New London School District.  I moved to Seymour in 2019 and I absolutely love this town.  It feels like home.   It just made sense for me to secure a teaching position in Seymour and become a part of the Seymour Thunder family.
