Forensics is a Seymour High School organization that provides students with opportunities for public speaking and dramatic interpretation. Forensics in open to students grades 9 through 12. No experience is necessary. Students choose from a variety of categories: interpretive reading of prose or poetry; demonstration speech; play-acting; extemporaneous speaking; radio announcing; and several others.
The forensics team ranges in size from twenty to forty students. Participants meet individually with coaches to choose, practice, and perfect their selections.
The forensics season runs from December through March or April. Students compete against other schools in forensics meets. The highest level of competition is the state meet held in Madison each spring.
