Student growth and success is our priority as we provide a comprehensive curriculum for students in grades 4K-12. Seymour’s curriculum, which aligns with the Wisconsin Model Academic Standards, is focused on being research-based and developmentally appropriate for students. Through the support of the Curriculum Department, teachers & administrators are life-long learners keeping current with educational initiatives in order to provide the best learning experiences for our students. Seymour’s highly qualified teachers work towards providing differentiated instruction for students, technology integration, and a 21st Century Learning focus. National, state, and district assessments administered to Seymour students help teachers inform their instruction to determine if students are reaching their learning targets as set by the district.
Curriculum, assessment, and instruction are looked at through the following questions:
-
What do we want our students to learn?
(Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum / Learning Targets)
-
How will we know they are learning?
(Assessment System)
-
What research-based instructional practices will be used to ensure high levels of learning for all students?
(Instruction)
-
What will we do if students are not learning or have already learned the material?
(Access to Intervention or Enrichment)
