Aquatic Center

Pools Closed

Aquatic Center Patrons,

Over the last few weeks we have experienced a tile issue in our Big pool. Many tiles have cracked and popped loose. A crack in the cement floor of the pool was found and seems to be the culprit. The cause of the crack is still somewhat of a mystery, but may be Mother Nature’s handy work. Due to safety concerns and proactive measures to stop any further damage, the pool will be drained 9/17/15 to initiate the repair process. Both pools will be drained and inspected. The BEST guess estimate is a 6-8 week shutdown. Hoping for less. On a positive note, we will be utilizing this time to do our normal shut down cleaning and repairs to forego a winter shut down. It is our goal to reopen as soon as possible. We will keep everyone informed of any early openings. Not only does this affect the community patrons but our students as well.  Timing could not have been worse, with  Swim Team Season is in full stride. Our admiration goes out to the team for demonstrating  positive attitudes while relocating and traveling to other pools to practice. We would like to extend our gratitude for your patience, understanding and support during this time.

In efforts to support a healthy lifestyle, we invite all current pool pass holders to use the Fitness Center FREE of charge during regualar hours or during our extended hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the down time. The Aquatic Center staff will be available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am-12pm for assistance with the equipment. We will extend current pool passes by the equivalent down time.

Thank you for your understanding.
