Black Creek Students will attend Summer School in Black Creek

Rock Ledge Elementary Students will attend Summer School at the Seymour Middle School

This year we will again be partnering with the Oneida Reads Program and Fallen Timbers

Black Creek Summer School Main Information

Black Creek Elementary/Middle School is excited to announce our upcoming summer school will be held Mondays-Thursdays from 8am to noon at Black Creek School. 

It starts on Monday, June 15th and ends on Thursday, July 2nd.

Sign up even if you can attend some of the days.

4K Students

Current 4K students can participate in kindergarten readiness.

K-4th Grade Students

Current K-4th grade students can participate in a rotation of different classes.  They will be able to pick their favorite 4 from the Black Creek offered courses.  Those options will include classes like story time, cooks and books, around the world, fun in the sun, STEAM, sports of all sorts, etc...

5th - 8th Grade Students

Current 5th-8th grade students can participate in a rotation of different classes.  They will be able to pick their favorite 4 from the Black Creek offered courses.  Those options will include but are not limited to classes like story time, cooks and books, around the world, fun in the sun, STEAM, sports and all sorts, etc...

 


Black Creek 4K Students

Weekly sessions are now: Monday - Thursday from 8am to noon (Fridays Off)

Our 4K students will get a “Jumpstart to Kindergarten” experience during summer school.

Kindergarten Readiness
Current 4K students will continue to learn and grow in their journey to 5K readiness. Exciting learning in the areas of reading and math will take place along with fun summer activities. These activities will support their growth as kindergarten students.


Black Creek 5K-8th Grade Students

Summer school includes a rotation of the following classes.

Students will be able to have a choice between some different classes at different grade levels. All student classes will be built based on their current grade level. A description of each class is below.

Story hour - Open Library  
Students will enjoy songs, crafts, games, and, of course, stories. All students will visit the library and have the opportunity to check out books for summer reading. 

STEAM 
Students will enjoy projects and experiments in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. All students will get to have fun exploring, designing, building, and testing projects from all types of science.

Cooks N Books 
Students will be connecting cooking activities to books. Multiple activities will happen around the skills of math, science, and reading. 

Sports of All Sorts
Students will be involved in a wide variety of large group activities usually played throughout the school year in physical education class. There will be a focus on sportsmanship, game strategies, and having fun while exercising and increasing their heart rates. 

Fun in the Sun
Students will engage in team-based outdoor activities like capture the flag, kickball, relay races, ultimate frisbee, cornhole, and volleyball, promoting teamwork, friendly competition, and fun outside.

Around the World

Students will journey around the world experiencing culture through crafts, music, stories, language, and more.

 


Fallen Timbers

Incoming 1st & 2nd Graders

Week 1: Monday - Thursday, June 8th - 11th, 2026, from 12:00 to 3:00

Incoming 3rd-5th Graders

Week 2: Monday - Thursday, June 15th - 18th, 2026, from 12:00 to 3:00 

There is a bus that brings students to and from their school.
