6th graders at Seymour Middle School are listening to Allen Say's autobiography Drawing From Memory as a read aloud in class. Sets of partners are spending two class periods reading some of his wonderfully illustrated books.
The 6th graders in Mrs. Nechodom and Ms. Hischke's Reader's Workshop classes are having excellent conversations about reading on their blog! Check it out at sms6reading.edublogs.org!
Hello! My name is Jocelyn Hischke and I am proud to be a new member of the 6th grade teaching team at Seymour Middle School. Currently I am teaching reading and math.
Originally I am from Abrams, WI and graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 2001. I then went on to UWGB and received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in history in December 2006. For four years I taught 4th-6th grade and coached volleyball in the Elcho School District which is located just north of Antigo, WI. I was thrilled to become a member of the Seymour Community School District this summer because of its outstanding reputation and it brings me closer to home.
In my free time I enjoy being with my friends and family, scrapbooking, reading and walking my dogs. I am a Brewer, Packer and Badger fanatic and enjoy watching my siblings participate in athletics as well.
