6th graders at Seymour Middle School are listening to Allen Say's autobiography Drawing From Memory as a read aloud in class. Sets of partners are spending two class periods reading some of his wonderfully illustrated books.
The 6th graders in Mrs. Nechodom and Ms. Hischke's Reader's Workshop classes are having excellent conversations about reading on their blog! Check it out at sms6reading.edublogs.org!
Hello! I am proud to be a teacher at Seymour Middle School. I have a B.A. in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Education from St. Scholastica University.
I enjoy teaching Communication Arts. My goal as a teacher is to create a warm, challenging environment that nurtures a love of reading and writing. Establishing a lifelong love of reading in young adults is giving a gift of a constant friend, a book. Preparing students to communicate intelligently and expediently for the 21st century is a tremendous task that I take on with enthusiasm. How lucky I am to be a teacher.
My family resides in Appleton with our Golden Retriever, Stogey. We enjoy outdoor activities and sporting events. My husband Jim and I are active in our church and charitable activities. Supper each evening is important to our family. It is a fun time to share our days.
