Fitness Center Rules:
In order to use the Fitness Center all participants must sign in. No exceptions! All Adults must pay the appropriate daily fee or have a current membership, unless employed by the Fitness Center. A current Fitness Center Staff list can be found in the Fitness Center Office. Seymour students may use the Fitness Center with no cost.
In order for staff to know everyone’s fee status it is required that you present your membership card or student ID (students need not bring their student ID during student use time) otherwise you will be expected to pay the daily fee. It is your responsibility to prove your fee status.
All students, 8th grade or older, may use the facility as long as they meet the above requirements. Students younger than 8th grade and at least 12 years old must workout directly with their parents or be in an approved program that has been approved by the Fitness Center Director.
Adults and students are only allowed to use the facility when it is scheduled to be opened unless it has been approved by the Fitness Center Director.
Participants must be properly dressed for activity. Clothes must be clean; free of mud, grass and shoes must be dry (this is usually a problem during the winter months because of the snow and salt).
No food or beverages (except water).
The towels that are supplied are for Fitness Center patrons. Other activities and organizations are responsible for getting their own towels. Towels are not allowed to leave school grounds. Towels should be placed in the proper container when finished so they can be cleaned and used again. Shortage of towels happens when users do not return towels or do not return them promptly.
No one may enter/exit the back doors due to NSCA Safety Guidelines. Those exits are too close to lifting stations and can cause accidents when used. These are emergency exits only. When Fitness Center is busy (while others are waiting) limit your use on the cardio equipment (steppers, treadmills and bikes) to 20-30 minutes.
Admission to facility will be limited to individuals who follow the above rules.
