The 2013-16 Information (Library Media) and Technology Plan for the Seymour Community School District analyzes relevant research and best practices and is on file with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. This analysis shows that student achievement is improved through the use of integrated technology and well staffed, robust media programs. Sustained systemic professional development of the staff provides the necessary training to make this possible.
This plan assesses progress on the 2010-13 plan goals and has realistically created new goals which will be worked on continually over the next three years. Using a survey created within the district, has assisted the committee in the process of developing the following new goals:
1. We will expand and improve information literacy awareness, and we will support 21st Century Digital Literacy skills with all members of the educational community.
2. We will improve student achievement by using research-based Best Practices so that every pupil attains proficiency in 21st Century Digital Literacy skills.
3. We will continually support innovative teaching and learning, through utilizing and integrating technology and information literacy.
4. We will maintain and expand a robust education support system and network.
Teachers, students, administrators, parents, and community members will work together over the next three years in an attempt to accomplish all four of these goals.
