Being a teacher is an exciting journey! I enjoy the challenges of meeting the diverse, individual needs and strengths of my students. I am blessed to teach in a district that shares my educational philosophy and belief of putting students first and foremost. Technology has paved an incredible path for enhancing student learning and I am eager to continue to learn about new educational technology and utilize it for the betterment of student learning.
As a teacher, my goal is to motivate and energize my students to want to become lifelong learners by making lessons and learning interesting and relevant to their lives. My objective in teaching is for students to find joy and relevance in learning that will help to develop a yearning for education and knowledge throughout their entire life. I look forward to many more learning experiences and adventures!
I am a second grade teacher for Seymour Community School District and have been working at Black Creek Elementary School since 1999. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary/Middle School Education, I earned a master’s degree through Walden University in Elementary Reading and Literacy.
Working at Black Creek Elementary/Middle School, is a unique experience for both our staff and students as we have the opportunity to work and grow together for the duration of 10 school years (k-8). This special connection has helped to develop trusting and supportive relationships for students, parents, and staff.
A personal goal I have is to help children reach their full potential in education and life. I believe that when given support and encouragement, children can accomplish tasks they never thought possible. With this goal as a focus, I welcome new challenges and feel successful when I see a smile on a child’s face that shows how happy and proud they are of their accomplishments.
